On June 23, 2013, our family lost the matriarch who loved us and who worked tirelessly to ensure we had everything we needed.

 

Vera L. Baird (nee Fox) was 84. She was one of four children born to William Fox and Lillian (nee Kitchen) of Gagetown, NB

 

Mom lost her husband, Douglas, son of the late Dr. Albert Foster Baird and Hilda (nee MacLennan), in 1974, at the age of 50.

 

She was also predeceased by sister Frances Kirkpatrick and brother William "Bill" Fox, of Moncton.

 

She is survived by her children, Barbara (George Filliter), Shelley (Patrick Buckley), and Bruce (Marilyn Fowler), along with grandchildren, Leigh and Kelsey Buckley, Erin and Emily Filliter, Andrew, Hilliary and Heather Baird; great granddaughter Brianna Coburn; sister Anne MacDonald of Riverview, and special friend, Claude Bailey.

 

There will be a family graveside service. Our mother loved her family, her "little" house, her cottage at Grand Lake, and she loved the simple pleasures in life.
