It is with great sadness that the family of Hilda Laura Peaches Miller, of Fredericton, announces her passing at Thomas Hall, Shannex, on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026. Born in Clarenceville, Quebec, on April 6th, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Guy & Laura (Noak) Miller. 

Hilda received her Teacher’s Certificate from Macdonald College, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Education from McGill University and Sir George Williams University in Montreal.Hilda taught for 30 years with the Knowlton School Board, and the Lakeshore School Board in Quebec.

Anglican by faith, Hilda was a member of the Anglican Church Women’s Auxiliary, University Women’s Club, and was Past Noble Grand of the Imperial Rebekah’s Lodge.

Hilda is survived by three daughters; Audrey Hamelin (Luc) of Dunham Quebec, Angela Forster of Palm Beach Florida USA, Austina Noble of Hanwell NB & son in law George Noble of St. Paul, two granddaughters, Linda Hamelin & Alexie Watson (Mitchell), five great-grandchildren, Logan Bisson, Leo Bisson, Hank Watson, Charlee Watson & Georgia Watson, as well as many nieces & nephews.  

Besides her parents, Hilda was predeceased by a son Graham Lee, two sisters Fern McCullough & Grace Bullock, two brothers,  Irving Miller & Herbert Miller. 

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in Sweetsburg, Quebec at a later date.  For those who wish, memorial donations in Hilda’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or Hospice Fredericton.
