It's with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Ira William Farnell, which occurred at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on June 7, 2026.  He was born on December 10th, 1990.

He is survived by his father Derek Farnell (Heather); his mother Marguerite Farnell of St Stephen; his maternal grandmother Francisca Canney; aunts Mariette & Marilee;  uncles Joey, Frank, and Ira; sisters Trisha, Hally, chosen sister RayLynn, Taylor Bridgeo her children Piper, Koda and Laurel who he adored, they enjoyed Friday night suppers when he would sit with her and color or put Wendy’s animals together and also play in the back yard park until dark. He also leaves behind a number of cousins great aunts and uncles.

Graduating in June of 2008 from FHS, he was predeceased by his paternal Grandparents Donald Pop Farnell in 2011 and Glenda Nan Terris Farnell in 2019; grandfather Frank Cleven; and his uncle Darrell Farnell in 2022. Nan made the best chocolate chip squares and peanut butter cookies, and he kept her recipes on the fridge door.  Ira loved his sisters he would do anything for them. He was their in-home mechanic took so much pride in doing it.

If he ever needed a drive, the first person he would call or text would be Hally. She would be coming through the door Dad "why are you here do you need a drive?". He got all spiffed up to take Trisha in his mini stock car to the Prom, Tie, Suit Jacket, sunglasses and hat, one sharp dressed man. He enjoyed spending time with his dad at the Saturday morning Market, helping in the yard, and chit chatting. Ira was referred to by friends Mike Christie, Adam Thorne and Ricky Hood who are lifelong friends as a legend.

He worked at a number of Tire and Auto Shops, last working for Greg Strewart LTD. Being mechanically inclined, he could operate anything, he once said there was too many to list.

Ira enjoyed horses, driving mini stock cars at Speedway 660, 4 wheeling, bowling (The Drome made the best fries) and just enjoying time at the track with friends. Ira was a friend to all those he met, he would be the first to lend a hand. His go to was Kraft peanut butter, garlic fingers, pizza, York patties, mountain dew, Pepsi and butter.

You will be missed by so many Bud.

A graveside service will take place June12, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery at 1pm.

The family  would like to thank the staff on 4SE and 4SW and Dr McLean they were all so kind and kept everyone informed.
