With heavy hearts the family of M. Shirley Hanson wish to announce her passing on June 6, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Tilley and Ina (Lawrence) Brewer.

Shirley was the wife of the late Ardine Hanson. They celebrated 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2015.  They lived in Lower Hainsville all of their married life where they raised 10 children.

Shirley is survived by children Kathy Morgan, Clinton Hanson (Susan Fraser), Bradford Hanson (Terri Campbell), Jocelyn Stephenson (Mark), Audrey Hanson, Tammy Ingraham (Timmie), Bernadine Rothwell, Jennifer Laforest (Mitch), Florence Hanson and daughter-in-law Cathy Hanson, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Also survived by brothers Bernard Brewer (late Darlene), Wendall Brewer (June) and Earl Brewer (late Joann); sisters, Verna Morehouse (late Clayton), Alice Jones (late Burtis), and Barbara Brewer (late Wilder) as well as a sister-in-law Marilyn Brewer.

As well as her husband, Shirley was predeceased by her son, Gregory Hanson, son-in-law Robert Morgan, grandson Derek Morgan, and great-grandson Wyatt Billings, son-in-law George Trail. Also predeceased by sisters, Lorna (Eldon) Brewer, Bertha (Dean) Brewer and brother Fred Brewer.

She was well loved and will be missed by many.

Funeral service will be held at the Lower Hainsville Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 2pm with Clergy, Rev. Peggy Yetman and assisted by Rev. Carl and Rev. Evelyn Brewer.
