The family of Clifton Leroy Turnbull, announce his passing on May 12, 2026; surrounded by his family.  He was 78.

Clifton was born on January 28, 1948, in Eastport Maine; to James and Alice Turnbull (Fitzgerald).  He was then brought to Campobello Island by his parents.

Clifton lived the first 20 plus years of his life on Campobello Island.  The family moved to Fredericton in 1973.

Clifton chose a career in being a Long-Haul Transport Truck Driver.  His long career took him all over Canada and all states in the U.S.A.; with the exception of Hawaii.

He was presented with the prestigious award of "Safe Driver Award" This award was in recognition of driving over a million miles and being accident free.

Clifton was a very protective Big Brother to his sister, Trudy; despite the fact that he was 21 years old when Trudy was born.

Trudy called him "Bubba"; a name that stuck with him his whole life.

Clifton is survived by his sister, Trudy McLaggan, her husband Corey.  Their children, Kyle McLaggan, his wife Maegan.  Alicia Demerchant, her husband Corbett.  His very special great-niece, Lillian Demerchant, whom he adored.

He is also survived by his cousin Larry Parker (Joyce), whom he grew up with.

He is also survived by two "chosen children", Krista Goodine, Ronald Goodine, from a previous marriage, aunts, uncles and several cousins.

Clifton was pre-deceased by his parents, James and Alice Turnbull.  His paternal grandparents, Lillian Heard and James Turnbull (SR).  His maternal grandparents, Osborne and Doris Fitzgerald.

The family are eternally grateful to Erika Lowther, who was Cliftons Bayshore worker.  Erika was very special to Clifton.  He always referred to her as " a shining star".

There will be no funeral service, as Cliftons wishes.

Memorial donations may be made to FRESH START DANE RESCUE; as per Cliftons request.  Great Danes were very special to Clifton.

Thank you Bubba, for being the BEST BIG BROTHER ever.

I know, as you join Mom and Dad in Heaven, you will still be watching over me.

Love you always Bubba.❤️
