Joanne Carol Adshade, age 68, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away on May 4, 2026, at the Hospice Fredericton Home, following a short and courageous battle with cancer. She fought bravely until the very end.

Born on January 5, 1958, in Fredericton, NB, Joanne was the beloved daughter of Millicent and Joseph Merrill Dickeson. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Dale Dickeson and Neil Dickeson; and her nephews, Stephen, Joseph, and Craig Dickeson.

Joanne lived a simple and quiet life, finding comfort in familiar routines and joy in the small moments that mattered most to her. She devoted 14 years of service at the Prospect Street Tim Hortons, where she became a familiar and friendly face to customers and coworkers alike. Joanne took pride in her work and the sense of community it provided.

She had a lifelong love for daytime soap operas, faithfully following them throughout her adult life. One of her most cherished traditions was her Sunday morning ritual of watching Coronation Street, a routine she rarely missed and truly enjoyed.

Joanne also had a deep love for her cats, each one a treasured companion who brought her comfort and happiness over the years.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 41 years, John Adshade, and her three daughters: Alicia (Abe) Mackay, Jacquline Adshade, and Stefanie Adshade (Perry). She also leaves behind her cherished nine grandchildren: Hayley, Abram, Chelsey, Cheahlyn, Ava, Cassidy, Kari, Harley, and Joseph, and her great‑grandson, Lennox.

Joanne is survived by her sister Arlene Dickeson, with whom she shared a real and true sisterly connection, and her brother Kenny (Deb) Dickeson. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Hospice Fredericton Home for their compassion, kindness, and exceptional care. Their support made Joanne’s final days comfortable and brought great peace to her and her family.

As per Joanne’s wishes, there will be no service. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne’s memory to the Hospice Fredericton Home or the Fredericton SPCA.

Joanne will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
