It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Paul Ketchum, who passed away unexpectedly at home in Waasis, NB on April 16, 2026 at the age of 63.

Born in Saint John, NB and raised in Hampton, NB, Dave dedicated 46 years to the Canadian Armed Forces as an Aircraft Technician, TUAV Technician in Kandahar and lastly a contractor out of Greenwood, NS Aurora.

Dave was the beloved husband, best friend and soul mate to his wife Peggy Ketchum.  Together they shared a life full of adventures with postings from Oromocto, NB, Goose Bay, Labrador, Edmonton, Alberta and Greenwood, NS.

He was a loving father to Caitlin Phelps (Adam), Hailey Ketchum and Hannah Ketchum and the proud Grandfather to Emma, Rhys and Nora.  He was a cherished son to Marilyn Ketchum and the late Paul Ketchum, a dear brother to Karen Locke (late Don Locke) and Kelly Floyd (Darren) and Uncle to Taylor McCaffrey, Ryan Locke, Jonathan Locke, Benjamin Locke, Chelsea Driscoll, Jillian Floyd and Mackensie Blackmore.  He leaves behind many special friends who will miss him dearly.

Dave was a man of many talents and will be remembered as the family expert, whether there was an issue with a vehicle, a computer or any home project that needed fixing, he was the one to call.  His patience and time were endless.  His girls knew that they could call him anytime for anything that they needed.  He was ready to offer advice and jump in to help.  He was a wonderful father, brother, son, friend and above all a deeply loving husband.  He had a great sense of humour, always had a joke to make you smile.  He had a love and passion for the outdoors, either on a snowmobile, bike or kayak or geocaching with his support dogs, Oliver, Murphy, Ziggy, Gizmo and his velcro dog Winston.

There will be no formal funeral service, however, will be a celebration of life being held at the Lower Norton Shore Community Hall, 250 Pickwauket Road, Hampton, NB on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 from 1PM-3PM.  To honour Dave’s love for animals, donations can be made to their local SPCA.

Those who knew him are invited to keep him in their memories and if they wish, raise a glass in his honour.  Dave passed unexpectedly and his passing leaves a profound void in our hearts to all who knew and loved him.  He will be deeply missed and loved forever.
