**UPDATED**

A celebration of life for Lydia will be held on Sunday April 12th 2026 from 2-4 PM at 50 Highpoint Wellness Center 2nd floor in the Social Room, and the family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations to Fredericton Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lydia Rose Drost on December 29th, 2025, surrounded by family at the Fredericton Hospice. Lydia was born in Campbell River, British Columbia. She was predeceased by her husband Sterling of 63 years.

Lydia was a stay at home mother while her children were young. After which she worked at Clark's Chick Hatchery and then as a seamstress. Lydia was an excellent seamstress and a talented artist. Family was everything to Lydia, nothing was more important to her. She was an avid gardener, wonderful painter and a beautiful quilt maker. She loved nature and the outdoors, travel and family gatherings.

Lydia is survived by Angelie (John Lavallee), Stephen Drost, and Shawn Drost (Virginia Drost). Her grandchildren, Marcel, Naomi, Lynn, Jesse, Shawn Jr., Chantal, Tiffany, Hannah, Alexia, Evelyn, Jameson and Serenity. Great grandchildren Taryn, Jackson, Zach, Scarlet and Teddy. Her sisters Margaret Foss and Sylvia Goodheart. Lydia was one of sixteen children and has many nieces, nephews and their families.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family can not say enough to thank the amazing medical team, staff and volunteers at Fredericton Hospice. The care, compassion and kindness given to Lydia was second to none.
