The
passing of Freda May Veness occurred at Frederick Hall, Fredericton,
NB on December 10, 2025, born in Dumfries, NB on December 18, 1936 to
the late William E.(Bill) and Virgie M (Cronkite)
Lockard.
Freda is
survived by brother Cecil C Lockhart and Charlotte (Lo) of Courteney,
BC, cousins and nieces. Step son John Randolph (Randy), two step
grandchildren Jessie L. and Michael (John) Veness. Besides her parents
she was predeceased by Husband John(Jack) Veness, a brother Glenn W
(Gayle) and a nephew.
Freda was
employed by Department of Transportation and Dept of Natural
Resources. She enjoyed Badminton, bowling, skiing, curling (not to
forget 8 Enders) and walking. She was a member of YM-YWCA, Brunswick
Street Baptist Church, Royal Canadian Legion #4, Capital Winter Cub
for many years, Monarchist League of Canada, Beaverbrook Art Gallery.
She volunteered at the Fredericton Community Kitchen for many
years.
Freda and
Jack travelled to all USA States, also France, where Jack served
during Second World War, they made many friends during their travels,
In later years enjoyed the warmth of Portugal during Winter
months.
Burial to
take place at a later date.
