With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Mildred Ernestine (Myers) Dunphy at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Born in Fredericton on June 19, 1937, Mildred was the cherished only child of Ernest and Nellie (Ferguson) Myers. She graduated from Fredericton High School and went on to attend Acadia University. It was during her high school years that she met Jack, her lifelong love. Together, they raised a family and created countless memories, including summers spent at Maquapit Lake.
Mildred dedicated her life to the love and care of her family and was a devoted daughter to her parents. She and Jack and Anne moved to Jewetts Mills, where they embraced their retirement years, enjoying a peaceful life together. Mildred was an active member of the Mactaquac Baptist Church and contributed to the Womens’ Missonary Society (WMS) for much of her life, reflecting her unwavering faith and devotion to her community.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication, particularly to her children, and especially to her beloved daughter, Anne. Mildred will be deeply missed by her loving husband Jack, her children Anne Dunphy, Jane Rioux (David), and Nancy Esau (Darryl). She was a proud grandmother to Elizabeth, Peter, Matthew Rioux, Lincoln Esau, and great granddaughter Ella Rioux, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home for their exceptional care and kindness, as well as to the medical team at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for their support during her final days.
A celebration of Mildred’s life will be held at a later date in August, with a day & time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Jobs Unlimited, Pine Grove Nursing Home or the Mactaquac Baptist Church.
