Tommy passed away quietly March 17th, 2025 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital in his 94th year.  Born to George Lawson Boldon and Georgina Lenore (Styran) Boldon on May 15th, 1931 he was the 3rd of their 11 children.

A graduate of Fredericton High School, he worked various jobs before moving to London Ontario to work for CN Express.  Eventually he moved back to Fredericton and joined his brother George in the service station business in Oromocto.  Their partnership lasted 27 years.

A bachelor for many years Tommy and Freda married on April 24, 1990. For almost 35 years they enjoyed an active retirement of golf, bowling, and a bit of travel to visit family in Ontario and Austria.   Tommy’s happy place was enjoying their back yard and he would often be found listening to his endless supply of cd music while enjoying a good book, feeding the birds, and working in the flower garden.  The spring of the year brought him his other favorite pastime, watching his beloved Blue Jays’ spring training and league play throughout the season.  If the Jays were rained out, he could always find another ballgame to enjoy.    Evenings weren’t complete until Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were aired, and even in his last few days, he was solving the Wheel puzzles before anyone else.

Tommy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 for more than 57 years and member of the Elks of Canada for more than 45 years.

Survived by wife Freda (Lewis)(Buckingham), step children Donalda Buckingham, Westville, NS; John Buckingham (Ruth), Fredericton; Wendy Buckingham (Geoff Chinn), Burlington, ON; son-in-law John Landry, Fredericton and grandchildren Chris Buckingham (Paige), Greg Landry, Jillian Buckingham, Naomi Buckingham, all of Fredericton; and Matthew Kierstead, Burlington, ON.   He is also survived by sisters Kathy Boldon, Emily Ruth Mullins, and step-siblings Gail and Mac Barton, sisters-in-law Lois Boldon, Jacquie Boldon, Millie Boldon, all of Fredericton; Diana Hallett (Richard), Peel NB and brother-in-law Heber Lewis (Barbara) Coldstream NB and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his stepmother Georgie Boldon, sisters Mary Ellen Mayo (Brian), Jeannie MacLaughlin (Dennis), Margaret Anne Mersereau (Mush), Nancy Blizzard (Buzz), Hannah Callaghan (Bernie), brothers, Jim, George (Joan), Gordon, and step-daughter Bonnie Landry.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at Bishops Funeral Home, Woodstock Road, Fredericton NB. on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 from 2pm-4pm.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.

In Lieu of Flowers, and as per Tommy’s request, donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Cancer Research, Heart and Stroke Foundation, MS Society, or a charity of your choice.
