The family of Eugene Richard Gallant are very sad to announce his sudden passing in Fredericton, NB, on January 1st, 2025. Eugene was born in Fredericton, NB on December 19, 1945, to his parents, the late George and Mary (Miller) Gallant. He was married to Marjorie (Pat) Gallant and later remarried Gloria Gallant.

Eugene is survived by one son, Jene Gallant (Gemma); five grandchildren, Misty Gervais (Tomy), Tracy Humble (Derik), Christopher Humble (Indy), Jordan Gallant (Sabrina) and Hailey Gallant; eleven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Savannah, Annabelle, Jakob, Grace, Megan, TJ, Zoey, Zack, Nash and Hunter; two brothers, Guy Gallant (Gloria), Rainey (Merilda); three sisters, Joanie, Mary (Alan) and Donna.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Eugene is predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ellen Gallant; eleven brothers and sisters; as well as his special feline friend, Clive.

A proud member of Fredericton Legion, Branch 004, Eugene could often be found enjoying the companionship and comradery of other members. He loved to cook, loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved going for walks and shopping at his favorite store, the Giant Tiger. The one thing that people will remember the most about Eugene was his humor and his love of telling jokes and teasing the ladies.

A visitation will be held on Monday January 6, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, NB. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 7 at 2pm at Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorial donations in Eugene’s memory may be made to the Fredericton Legion Branch #4, the NB Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made at www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
