Chalmers Hospital on December 16, 2024, at the age of 87. She was the
daughter of the late William and Margaret (Clark) Morgan and wife of
the late Hugh Elkins of Fredericton. As the last surviving member of
her immediate family, she was predeceased by her siblings: Reverend
William Morgan (late Elsie), Glen (late Bertha) and June Greer (late

Ruth completed her formal education at Bethany Bible College
in Yarmouth, NS, as well as Teachers’ College and the

school, then embarked on her nursing career, first at the Victoria
Public Hospital and, subsequently, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital. She married Hugh on June 30, 1961, with whom she had three
children. Hugh and Ruth enjoyed several decades at Beulah Camp in
Browns Flat, NB. As a woman of faith, Ruth was a longstanding member
of the Wesleyan Church and, in recent years, a faithful member of
Skyline Acres Baptist Church. She cherished her friends from
both.
Ruth is survived by her son, Stephen Elkins, daughter Andrea
Toner (Bill) and granddaughter Samantha Toner. She is also survived by
three sisters-in-law: Brenda Elkins, Cindy Bushby (late Allan) and
Valerie Elkins (late Brent), as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Elkins (Robert),
brother-in-law, Donald Elkins and special stepmother-in-law, Dora
Elkins.
