It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frances "Arlene" Moser (nee Stockley) on Friday November 29, 2024.  Born on February 27, 1933 to Moses and Minnie Stockley (nee Kingston) in Pejebscot Maine.  In 1935 Arlene, her elder sister Grace along with their parents moved back home to Manners Sutton (Harvey Station) along the Magaguadavic River.

Upon her graduation at Harvey High School Arlene trained as a nurse at the Victoria Public Hospital in Fredericton, and it was during this time that she met and fell in love with Gerald (Gerry) Moser with whom she would wed and raise her four beloved children.  After a few years hiatus from nursing Arlene changed professional direction and went to work at the Harriet Irving Library, University of New Brunswick until such time she and Gerry launched their long running business venture Rainsford Contracting.

Her greatest pride in life were her children of whom her love knew no bounds!  Everything she did revolved around her husband and family.  She was a real mother, the type that every child should know and love as theirs.  Arlene is survived by sons Richard (Denise), Roger (Gail), Steven (Marg) and Janet (Pierre).  Grandchildren Derek, David, Sean, Lyndsey, James, Melissa, Adam, Abigail, Daniel and Elizabeth. Great-Grandchildren Hannah, Ryan, Charlotte, River, Rudy, Vaughn, Mason, Eleigha, Ella, Hully, Willow, Theodore, Vincent and Bruce.  Beloved Nephew James Ward (Brenda) Beloved Nieces Frances Ward, Sharon Russell (Michael) and Anne Boucher (Davis).  She is also survived by several cousins and close family friends.

Arlene was predeceased by her parents Moses and Minnie Stockley, sister Grace Ward, stepbrother Lawrence Stockley and stepsister Edith Stockley both of Manchester England. Brother-in-law James Ward, infant sister Irene, in laws Reuben and Kathleen Moser, several aunts, uncles and close family friends. Most important of all was the love of her life, husband Gerald Reuben Moser of whom she was married for over 50 years until his passing in 2007.

Arlene was an avid gardener and bird watcher, and she loved spending her time outdoors, most especially at their cottage at Lake George surrounded by those she loved. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake.  She was a member of the Fredericton Legion Ladies Axillary and St Peters Anglican Church ACW for many years.  As a child spending summers In Harvey at the Kingston family farm was of her fondest memories.  She came from a large close knit simple family who were kind and modest people.  This is how she conducted her entire life as a caregiver, a tender soul who never put herself above anyone else.  An avid reader and knitter our mother also had the most beautiful handwriting, she loved Christmas and took gift-giving very seriously.  She was our everything and she will live on in our hearts and memories for this lifetime and beyond.

Visitation will take place on Monday December 2, at Bishops Funeral Home from 2-4 pm and funeral on Tuesday December 3 at St. Peters Anglican Parish Church at 1:00 pm officiated by Father Ross Hebb.  A graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral service in the Harvey Settlement Cemetery (across from the Knox Presbyterian Church) for Arlene's children and their famalies.
We wish to sincerely thank our mothers’ caregivers, nurses and medical team at Thomas Hall at Shannex, Fredericton.  The care she received was that of great compassion, kindness and dignity and we as her family will be forever grateful.

The family have requested donations be made to the local Alzheimer’s or Kidney Foundations in liew of flowers.
