We are deeply saddened to share that Bruce Robert Mulholland, 75, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away on September 2nd at Doctor Everett Chalmer’s Hospital. He put up a tremendous fight and passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family. Bruce was born on October 26th, 1948, in Summerside, Prince Edward Island to Sybil and Gregory Mulholland.

Bruce is survived by his spouse; Elizabeth, siblings; Stephen (Laine), Chris (Donna), Carol, and sister-in-law; Cheryl, Children; Annie, Katie (Dan), Chris (Anne- Marie) and Julia (Joel); and many adoring grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug, and his parents.

As a world-travelled engineer, his work would help improve the lives of people all over the globe. He enjoyed all sports, including curling, tennis, skiing, canoeing, and even ran the Fredericton marathon in his youth. His great passion was for rugby and the Loyalists Club, and he eventually founded the Moncton Club to spread the love of the sport. During retirement, he became a champion Rummy – O player (using suspicious "house rules" that often came with a playful twinkle in his eye). His jovial spirit will be remembered fondly.

For those closest to him, though, Bruce will be remembered for his permanent place as grill master at many laugh-filled sunny pool parties for the family he loved so much. He took his role as provider seriously, always supporting his family - often charging in to pick us up before we knew we were down. He doted on his many adoring grandchildren and was an expert swing-pusher. If greatness is measured in the joy and love we spread to others, then the children's giggling around Bruce shows us we have lost a titan of a man.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home On Saturday, September 14th from 1-3pm with prayers at 2pm by father Bill Brennan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that in memory of Bruce's brother, donations be made to the ALS Society of New Brunswick & Nova Scotia. Online condolences can made at www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
