The family of Rosina Long are sad to announce that she died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 18.  She is survived by son Stephen Long (Heather), Susan Crowell (Eric), four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, twin sister Rowena, sister Pam, brother George and companion Lyle Hay. She was the daughter of the late Harley and Gwen Carr.  She was pre-deceased by siblings Malcolm, Christina, Catherine and Eileen.

Rosina’s working career was spent in the food service industry, her last years with Beaver Foods. Many people will remember her as the lunch lady at FHS.  She had a magnetic personality and she touched many people with her spirit and kindness.  Mum loved laughter, spending time with her family, music and dancing.  She and Lyle could often be seen cutting a rug at the monthly Bluegrass dances.  We will remember her for her joyful greetings when family arrived from out of town, her infectious laughter, her lemon meringue pies, and how she made all of us feel special.  She especially loved her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to send a card for every occasion.  Her family was proud to call her our Mum, Nanny, Aunt and Mother-In-Law.

She was a lifelong resident of Fredericton, with her last few months spent at Medley Hall, Shannex where she was a much-loved resident.  The family would like to thank the staff there for the wonderful care she received.

Donations in Rosina’s name can be made to the Salvation Army Church

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
