With much sadness, the family of Edith Anne Bailey would like to announce her passing at the DECRH on August 16, 2024. She was married to her husband Ross Bailey for 52 years. She was born in St. Stephen, NB, on July 18, 1951, to her parents, the late Donald and Gertrude (McCarthy) Hyslop.

In addition to her husband, Ross, she is survived by her daughter Sarah Bailey (Dusty Rothwell); grandchildren, Jaeda Paul, Jackson Shepard, Jakeb Shepard and Jace Shepard; sisters, Judy Shaw (Wayne), Mary Cromwell (Allen); brother, William Hyslop(Holly); dearly loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She was loved by many. She had very special friends Janet and June amongst many others throughout the years. Her granddaughters father Josh Paul stopped in for weekly visits every Sunday to check in on her and help her out. He never let a week go by without seeing her. He treated her just like a second mom.

Her grandsons father Jesse Shepard was very special to her as well.

In addition to her parents, Edith was predeceased by her brother Dennis Hyslop.

Graduating from The VPH school of nursing in 1972, Edith soon became a very respected registered nurse and loved helping people. She was a founding member of "Changes", a mental health support group. She had a passion for photography, making jam, pickling and shopping.

At Edith’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date to be announced.

For those who wish to make a memorial donation in Edith’s memory, the family have suggested the MIRA Foundation, the Heart and Stroke foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
