It is with tremendous sadness and heartache to announce the passing of Robert (Bob) James Gordon on April 14, 2024, at the age of 72. Bob was born in Peterborough Ontario on September 27, 1951.

Predeceased by his loving parents Robert and Grace (Larret) Gordon; his infant brother; another younger brother Steve as well as his mother-in-law Reina (Keur) Wedge. Bob leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife, Judy (Wedge) Gordon; sons [Richard Gordon, Jesse Krall (Breanne)] and grandson Brian; brother-in-law Randy Wedge (Joy Wedge); nephews: Matthew (Katie), Kyle (Frank), Nick (Flavia) as well as his great niece Bella, great nephew Isaak; a multitude of extended family; cherished friends and his cuddly fur baby Smurf.

Bob loved his family, his sons, and his nephews. He was so proud of them and their successes in life and he always had words of support and encouragement for them.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Bob, you would know that he had a strong work ethic, and he took pride in the work that he did.  In his earlier days Bob began working in an auto body shop in Peterborough (working nights and weekends while going to school during the day). Oh, how he loved working on cars!  One would have thought this would be his career choice - but life took a different turn, and in the early 1970s he started working with K-Mart in retail management (located in Fredericton) and this is where his love story began with the love of his life, Judy.  Together they were inseparable, and they built a strong life together for over 48 years, 35 of those were spanning across various parts of Canada as they followed his career.

As that part of Bob’s career came to a close, he ventured into the food industry and started a take-out food business in Waterloo for several years. However, as retirement was getting closer, Bob and Judy decided to move back to picturesque Fredericton to be closer to their loved ones and to enjoy the slower pace of life.

Bob loved meeting people and would talk to anyone that would listen!  He had the gift of gab as he took great interest in what people had to say.  It was not uncommon to hear Bob’s laughter and delight in a conversation that he was a participant in.  As an avid reader he enjoyed learning about what was going on in the world and dabbled in many interests including his love of music (he had many genres), motorbiking, camping, skiing, woodworking, and gardening but his true passion – oh that was golf!

He also enjoyed a good gathering (as he was usually the chief cook), and how he could cook! You always knew you were in for a feast at one of his barbecues or suppers. Coming and going at any gathering, he always had a hug for everyone, and he gave the best!

He may no longer be at our table in a physical form, but his legacy of kindness, compassion and loving spirit will always be present in everyone’s hearts and memories.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
