It is with great
sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Aubrey Kelly at the DECH,
in Fredericton NB, on April 7th,
2024.
Born in Upper
Kingsclear, NB on October 5, 1942, he was the son of Oswald and Eva
(Donnelly) Kelly.
Roy was predeceased
by his parents, wife Carolyn (Hinchey) Kelly in 2006; brother Hubert
Kelly, and infant brother
Lloyd.
He is survived by his
son Leonard (Karen), daughter Jennie (Aaron Perry), grandchildren
Patrick, Connor (Laura Fazio), Avery, and Ainsley; great grandson
Colson; sister Joyce Donahue; cousin Jack, whom we call
brother", several nieces and nephews; and special friend
Beatrice Yerxa.
Roy was a firefighter
with the Fredericton Fire Department for 33 years, retiring in 1998 as
a Captain. He also worked for over 30 years for Folz Vending with
routes in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I, and
Quebec.
Roy touched the lives
of many people and would happily shoot the breeze with anyone. He
never liked to stay in one place too long. One of his favorite
pastimes was to go for a drive. While the drives got shorter in
distance in later years, he drove to town almost every day to meet up
with his Tim’s coffee buddies on Hanwell
Road.
A funeral service
will be held on Friday April 12th, at 1PM at
Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, with
Rev. Sudesh (Peter) Valji officiating. A reception to
follow.

Special thanks to the
staff of 4SW at the DECH, for their compassion and excellent care of
Roy. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
of NB, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the
family.
