It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing
of John Alexander Dunbar of Fredericton. At 67 years old, he
packed more into life than most of us could ever imagine.
Moving out of his family home at a very young age, he became
very self-sufficient and a master of many trades. If you
needed something, John was there with a solution and the items needed
to fix your problem. Being the son of the late Mavis Loretta
MacFarlane, John had an independent streak that
could sometimes produce some unique scenarios. We will all
remember his dramatic personality with fond memories and more than a
few chuckles.
John's loves were split between playing hockey, riding his
Harley, hanging out with friends and playing bingo. Being passionate
about collecting antiques, many of John's friends would
receive multiple calls and pictures expressing his excitement over his
latest finds. He was also known for his green thumb and his
house was always filled with many kinds of
plants.
He will be deeply missed by his two daughter's, Selina Dunbar
and Alexandria Carpenter-Dunbar and brother Roger. John is
also survived by two nephews, Mark and Ryan
(Sarah).
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law,
close friend and bingo buddy, Lynn Dunbar.
A celebration of life will be held on
Saturday, March 23rd from 1-3
PM at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock
Road.
