Muriel Eileen Ferris died peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024, in Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB, at 101. Eileen was born in Saint John, NB, on December 22nd, 1922, the daughter of Byard & Clara Francis.

Eileen was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend. She was a long-time Brunswick Street Baptist Church member in Fredericton and the Church Choir. She was exceptionally well-traveled, visiting 6 of Earth's 7 Continents, and was an avid quilter.  Eileen represented the Province of New Brunswick in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Championship and was an active curler well into her mid-eighties.   

Eileen was predeceased by her parents, her late husband, Albert William Ferris, whom she now joins, and her son, Peter Byard Ferris. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Ferris, Fredericton, son Tom Ferris, Florida, and grandchildren Christopher Clark, Fredericton, Ryan Ferris, Quispamsis NB.  Megan Ferris/Spink Fredericton, Dustin Ferris, Bermuda, Donald Ferris McKay Siding, Nova Scotia, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Eileen Muriel Ferris was principled, steadfast in her beliefs and a strong-willed woman who never gave up.

A small family service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, her late husband Bert’s resting place, in the summer of 2024.
