The family and the community of St
Mary’s First Nation are very sad to announce the passing of
James "Hoagie" Nash at the Saint John Regional Hospital on
January 16, 2024, at the age of 50 years of
age.
Hoagie was born in Fredericton NB on November
1st, 1973, to his parents Gloria Nash and the late Arnold Beaver
Nash.
Hoagie is survived by his wife, Trish Hobson; his
sons, James, and Joey Nash; daughter, Marki Beek; stepchildren,
Wilhelm Forbes, and Maria Forbes, Samantha Hobson; granddaughter,
Sierra Hill; brother, Doug "Fred" Nash; sisters, Tammy
(Ronnie) Nash, Kathy "Baby" (Jamie), as well as several
nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be missed by his
napping buddy, Sassy the dog.
A proud member of St. Mary’s First
Nation, Hoagie was happy to be involved in many community activities,
he liked four wheeling and was well known for his "Famous Indian
Bread".
Visitation will be held at the family home at 55
Brooks Court, St. Mary's First Nation on Friday January 19, 2024,
beginning at 3pm; all-day Saturday, and until noon on Sunday. A
Funeral Service will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 603
Union Street, Fredericton, on Monday January 22, 2024, at 11am with
Father Maria Arokiam Chinnappan as celebrant. A reception will follow
in the Maqiyahtimok Centre 247 Maliseet Drive, St. Mary's First
Nation.
Memorial donations in memory of Hoagie, may be
