The passing of
Deborah Meredith Ingersoll Daggett of Fredericton, NB occurred on
Sunday, November 26th, 2023, at Hospice
Fredericton. Born in Saint John NB in 1946, she was the daughter of
the late Ken & Paula Ingersoll and wife of the late Douglas
Daggett.
Deborah, the
eldest of 7 children spent her first 12 years on Grand Manan Island.
She had many wonderful memories of that time. After moving to the
mainland and graduating from high school, she went on to Teachers
College and St. Thomas University, to become a teacher. After teaching
a few years at FHS, she returned to Grand Manan where she taught until
her retirement in 2001. Shortly after, she returned to Fredericton
where she worked for many years at Grace House and Women in Transition
house.
Deborah was an
avid reader and was seldom without a good book to read, always having
one in her purse in case she happened to get stuck somewhere. All of
her hobbies she took with great pride. She loved to share her
knitting, quilting, and scrapbooking with her family &
friends. One of her biggest passions was travelling to Europe,
specifically Italy. A special place, the Italian people and their
culture stole her heart, and she made it a personal goal in life to
encourage & help others so they could visit and share in many
wonderful memories. Her knowledge of genealogy & ancestry was
also very important to her and was far reaching.
Her greatest love
was her family. Deborah is survived by her daughter Sybil, and her
grandchildren Skylar & Jackson. Siblings Stephanie Bishop
(Donald), Mary Hartt (Darwin), Sarah Ingersoll, Roderick Ingersoll
(Mary), Derek Ingersoll (Brenda), and Nancy Normandeau (Jacques).
Step-children Sharon Ingersoll (George), Blaine Daggett (Dorothy),
Stephanie Hyslop (Dennis), Toby Daggett Watkins (Nick), and Donna
Griffin (Bruce). Step-grandchildren Brock Jr, Sylas, Martin, Marcea,
Trevor, Melissa, Michael, Stephan, Patrick, Josh, Ryan, Mary Jane,
Tasha, Jordon, Keynan, Simon, Dylan, and Liam, several nieces
& nephews as well as grand neices &
nephews.
Besides her
husband and her parents, she is predeceased by her stepsons Brock
Daggett & Bryce
Daggett.
We would like to
give a special thanks to everyone who showed her compassion and gave
her the best care, at Hospice House Fredericton and in the Oncology
