Sonja Dagmar Burgess passed away, at the age of 65, on November 8, 2023. Cherished wife of Jack Christensen; and mother of her Daughter Liza Gallant (Dan) and adopted son Jeff Langland.

Loving nanny to her grandchildren Jade, Jazmine, Samantha, Jordan, Isaac, Bryan, Sierra and Lisa-Marie. Deeply loved by her niece Amber Burgess. Survived by her brothers, Brian Burgess (Mary Jane) and Basil Burgess (Susan). She is predeceased by her father Emmett Burgess and her mother Dagmar Burgess, and sister Nancy Burgess. 

Sonja will be remembered as a free-spirited, fun-loving, independent woman, with a heart of gold. Growing up, Liza always had many friends around; Sonja loved spending time with the children. She loved to go on walks, with her grandchildren, and indulging in the outdoors. She loved to explore her surroundings; she would share her love of nature through the multitude of pictures she took on her many adventures. She took great pride in her seven great-grandchildren: Bentley, Jensen, Jace, Blayk, Jaylin, Peightyn, and Billie. 

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Bishops Funeral Home & Crematorium 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton.
