It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Washburn of Fredericton, NB on Sunday November 5th 2023 at Neill Hall. Born in Fredericton she was a daughter of the late James and Josephine (Goodine) Owens.
Betty was a very loving and caring person. She worked at NB power for several years. One of Betty’s joys in life was her beautiful flowers, she spent many hours working in her garden. She enjoyed her walking time at the mall with many great coffee friends, and lots of great enjoyment spent at Johnnie’s family home in Blackville plus a few salmon dinners.
Betty was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as very special friends Rob, Rachel, Grace Doherty and Shawna Freeman.
She is predeceased by her husband Johnny Washburn, 3 sisters, Beatrice Callagan, Helen Collett and Dorothy Lawrence, and 2 brothers Johnny and Fred Owens.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 10th, 2023, from 1-2 PM with a funeral service at 2 PM at Bishop’s Funeral Home. 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, Interment to follow in the Hermitage Cemetery.
