It is with sadness that the family of Hilda Jenkins-Jarvis announce her passing at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB on October 22, 2023 at the age of 98.

Born in Treorchy, Wales on January 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Idris and Jennet (Thomas) Jones.  Hilda is survived by daughters Elaine Copeland and her husband Jan of New Maryland, NB, Candace Duplisea of Woodstock, NB, Krista McCarthy and her husband Dean of Riley Brook, NB and son Brian Jenkins and his wife Karen of New Maryland, NB; six grandchildren:  Jill Copeland, David (Amy) Copeland, Trudy (Noah) Pond, Robin (Olivia) Jenkins, Sandra (Frank) Habold and Greg (Amanda) McCarthy and nine great-grandchildren:  Anna, Caroline and Willem Habold, Allison and Nick Pond, Liam and Evan Copeland and Tehya Paul and Jorja Roi, brothers Arthur Jones and Dennis (Evelyn) Jones, sister-in-law Mavis Jones and many nieces and nephews.

Hilda was predeceased by her parents, husband Halden Jenkins and her second husband Roy Jarvis, daughter Sandra Jenkins, sister Gladys Jones and brother John Jones and sister-in-law Grace Jones.

Hilda came to Canada in 1946 as a British War Bride.  She was a proud member of the War Brides’ Association, first in Plaster Rock, NB and then in Fredericton, NB where she had lived since 1995.  She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary, the Singing War Brides of Fredericton and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Hilda’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home for their care and compassion.

Respecting Hilda’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the canadian cancer society in Hilda's memory
