At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on September 14th, 2023,
Lawrence Robichaud of Hanwell passed away at age 87. Born in
Hectanooga, NS, he was the son of the late Alfreda
Robichaud-Doucet.
Lawrence was a dedicated
and loving husband, father and grandfather. He met his wife Verna at
the HMCS Cornwallis Naval Base. They married on September 2nd, 1957,
and spent the last 66 years together raising their family. He was the
manager chef at the Lady Dunn Residence of UNB for many years before
his retirement.
He loved listening to country
music and would often play and sing along with his guitar and
harmonica. An avid hockey fan, he especially enjoyed watching his
Montreal Canadiens. Lawrence enjoyed wood carving and was proud to win
a red ribbon at the Fredericton Exhibition for his work. He loved to
laugh and tease and was always prepared with a good joke.
Lawrence will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years
Verna Robichaud, and their daughters Marlene Nowlan (Yvon) of
Fredericton and Maureen Michaud (Gaston) of Cochrane AB. Grandson
Matthew Michaud. Brothers and sisters Leo, Andre and Edward Doucet,
Angele LeBlanc, Olive Doucette, Ellena Chandler, and Emily Connell, as
well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Merissa Michaud, brothers and
sister, Antoine Robichaud, Edmond Doucet, and Rose Comeau.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and
staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for all the love and care
they gave Lawrence.
A celebration of life
will be held on Monday, September 18th, 2023, from 12-2 PM. A private
family interment in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Hanwell
will follow.
