At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on September 14th, 2023, Lawrence Robichaud of Hanwell passed away at age 87. Born in Hectanooga, NS, he was the son of the late Alfreda Robichaud-Doucet.

Lawrence was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He met his wife Verna at the HMCS Cornwallis Naval Base. They married on September 2nd, 1957, and spent the last 66 years together raising their family. He was the manager chef at the Lady Dunn Residence of UNB for many years before his retirement.

He loved listening to country music and would often play and sing along with his guitar and harmonica. An avid hockey fan, he especially enjoyed watching his Montreal Canadiens. Lawrence enjoyed wood carving and was proud to win a red ribbon at the Fredericton Exhibition for his work. He loved to laugh and tease and was always prepared with a good joke.

Lawrence will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years Verna Robichaud, and their daughters Marlene Nowlan (Yvon) of Fredericton and Maureen Michaud (Gaston) of Cochrane AB. Grandson Matthew Michaud. Brothers and sisters Leo, Andre and Edward Doucet, Angele LeBlanc, Olive Doucette, Ellena Chandler, and Emily Connell, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Merissa Michaud, brothers and sister, Antoine Robichaud, Edmond Doucet, and Rose Comeau.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for all the love and care they gave Lawrence.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 18th, 2023, from 12-2 PM. A private family interment in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Hanwell will follow.
