The Family of Francis
Augustine Levangie of Jewett Mills NB are saddened to announce his
passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on August
23rd, 2023. Francis was born in
Sydney NS on June 16th, 1949, to his parents
Augustine and Florella (Boudreau)
Levangie.
Francis is survived
by his brothers John Levangie (Kristil) and Andre (Theresa), 2 nieces
Rachel and Janice, as well as several cousins and great nieces and
nephews.
Francis was employed
as an automotive teacher at Fredericton high School and retired after
35 years in the education system. Anyone who was fortunate
enough to be introduced to him, soon realized that he was a mechanical
genius with encyclopedic knowledge of electrical systems, welding,
fiberglass, paint and body repair, metal fabrication\machining and
any mode of transportation that was propelled by an internal
combustion engine.
His garage-shop was a
source of achievement and enjoyment for himself and for the many
friends and students who shared in the same quest to learn from the
best. Francis prided himself with having every tool
necessary to do a job properly. His generosity and work
ethics were to be admired as he often went above and beyond what was
required to accomplish the task at hand. Francis was highly
respected in the community and beyond. His shop was a
gathering place for his many like-minded friends. He rarely
refused to offer a helping hand to anyone whom he thought would
benefit from his empathy. He possessed a unique sense of
humor and had quotes that were a play on words for any occasion at
hand. Francis was especially proud to have earned his
pilot’s license and at one time had his own
plane.
Visitation will be
held on Friday August 25th from 4-6 and 7-8 PM
from Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road,
Fredericton. Mass of Christian burial will be held
from St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Saturday August
26th, 2023, at 11 AM. Interment will
be in the Hermitage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be
made to a charity of the donor's choice.

" I would just like to express my gratitude &
Kristil's to everyone for thier support at this trying time. It is
especially difficult not being able to have my wife here with me. From
Francis entering the hospital on it was comforting to see the
outpouring of loving support & prayers he received.
His many friends that visited & comforted him and did all they
could for him. In reality his friends & students were his
family, and your support & kindness to me has been
overwhelming. Francis was such a giving person always ready to help
someone even if it meant putting his own dreams on hold. To see
& hear how many lives he touched in a positive way is such a
wonderful thing, especially knowing that in the end, its not what we
have its what we gave. He gave generously of his time
& knowledge as a teacher to the end. Imagine how much better
this world would be if all of us could trust in God & give
more of ourseleves to help one
another.
"May God richly bless all of you for your loving
support & prayers. Holy mary Mother of God, pray for us
sinners now & at the hour of our death. Amen "
