It is with profound sadness that the family of Rainah Cain, announce her passing at the Halifax IWK on Monday, July 24th, 2023 at the age of 13. Born July 8, 2010, she is the daughter of Laura Cain (Marc).

In addition to her mother Laura, Rainah leaves behind her father Marc; Sister Makyla Cain; Brother Eli Cain; Aunt Michelle Cain; Uncle Steven Cain; Grandparents Sandy Cain (Richard Fitt), and Michael (Lana) Cain; Niece Karley Leet; Nephew Aiden Leet; Special Papa Michael Allen, and her godmother, chosen aunt Courtney Taylor (Jeff Flowers) and so many friends, and extended family.

Rainah was a shining light in a dark space. She lit up the room as soon as she entered and it was impossible not to notice or feel her consistent positive energy.  She had such an impact on everyone she met with her bright smile and infectious personality.  She enjoyed swimming, dancing, crafts, spending time with family and friends, and her love of horror movies. Her love for music showed in every aspect of her life, from playing violin, ukelele and always singing.  She sang more than she spoke and she had an incredible talent for it.  Her absence is truly noticed by everyone that has met her.  The disease has taken her physical body but Rainah's infectious spirit will be eternal forever. 

Her family would like to send their sincere appreciation to the IWK and their staff on the MSNU ward and the PICU unit for the great care they provided Rainah in her 6 weeks there before her passing. Their staff were true heros in making her comfortable for the short time she was there. 

There will be no visitation or Funeral service at this time. There will be a celebration of life in Rainah's memory on August 12th, 2023 at Barbie and Kens Eatery in Oromocto NB starting from 2 :00 PM - 5:00 PM with a burial to follow at a later date in the St Francis of Assisi Church Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, Donations in memory of Rainah may be made to the IWK, The heart and Lung association, the SPCA, or a charity of the donors choice.
