It is with profound sadness that the family of Jodi Melissa Atkinson announces her passing from this life on June 19th, 2023 at the age of 41, after two years of bravely receiving various treatments for breast cancer. She will be forever remembered by her loving husband, soulmate, and best friend Geoffrey Atkinson, their two children River and Nolan of Fredericton, her sister Lori Magliaro Warren of Moncton, brother-in-law Jonathan (Kristina) Atkinson of Rusagonis, parents-in-law Blaine and Anne Marie Atkinson of Fredericton, several close friends, extended family members, and her Big Sister Judy Hoban-Mackeigan (Barry) of Sydney, Nova Scotia. 

She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Gloria Magliaro of Sydney.

Born in Sydney, Jodi moved to Halifax and briefly attended Dalhousie University before moving to Fredericton. After some travels and experiences across Canada, she eventually settled back in Fredericton with Geoff to raise their family and found rewarding work at Costco, where she built some amazing friendships while lighting up the warehouse around her.

Jodi was the heart and soul of her little family - filling the home with her bright personality, funny-but-no-nonsense approach to everything, and being an exceptional mother and life partner. Although she kept a small circle of friends, anyone who truly got to know her was instantly drawn to her honesty, compassion, salty humour, rare wit, and a sense of what is truly just in the world. She loved animals, especially cats, of which she managed to accumulate three, that still bring great peace with a touch of mischief to the household. 

 A special thank you to the incredible medical professionals at both the Dr. Everett Chalmers and Saint John Regional hospitals for their great care and compassion. From her oncology team, surgeon, many doctors, and especially countless nurses who were there for her day and night, she had nothing but the very best people caring for her.

According to her wishes there will be no funeral service. A small, private celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
