The
passing of Olive Irene O’Donnell of Fredericton occurred on
June 2nd 2023 at York Care Center. Born
December 28, 1933 in Clarenden, NB, she was the daughter of the late
William H. and Hilda G. (Muir) Sinnett. Her husband Harold
Frank O’Donnell predeceased her on August 16,
2014.
Olive
was a dedicated and faithful member of Capital Community Church and
was actively involved in her church for many years. Olive
worked in the retail business for a number of years working with
fabric and was noted for her sewing abilities. A gifted seamstress,
many a bride and bridesmaid will recall Olive making that perfect
dress. Olive also enjoyed working outdoors especially in her flower
gardens.
Olive
prayed faithfully for her family who admired her devotion and love she
so easily displayed in each of their lives. Forever treasuring her
memory are her four children, Stephen O’Donnell (Sherie) of
Burlington, Ont., Carol-Joy McFadyen (Rick) of New Maryland, Dale
O’Donnell (Nicole) of Fredericton and Kelty
O’Donnell of Fredericton. Olive cherished the time spent
with her five adored grandchildren, Aaron (Julie) and Alisha McFadyen
(Blaise), Kent, Luke and Grace O’Donnell,
great-grandchildren, Christopher, Ellie and Ryla. Olive is survived by
two sisters, Bernice Taylor of Quispamsis and Frances Rogers (Andrew)
of Moncton; also by sisters-in-law Dena Stockford, Vera
O’Donnell and Jean MacDonald as well as a number of nieces
and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Olive was also
predeceased by her step-father, Frank L. Stockford and by brothers,
Bliss Sinnett, Lawrence Sinnett and Nathanial
Stockford.
The
family will receive condolences at Capital Community Church, 71
Downing St., Fredericton on Tuesday June 6th,
2023, from 6-9 PM. A service celebrating the life of Olive
O’Donnell will be held from the church on Wednesday June
7th, 2023 at 1 PM with Pastors Jack Leaman and
Raymond Woodward officiating. A reception to follow.

Olive
requested that memorial contributions be made to Foreign Missions
designated for ministry in
Guatamala.
