It is with profound
sadness that we announce the passing our dear mother Muriel Marlene
Currie on April 28, 2023, at DECH in
Fredericton.
Marlene was born in
Fredericton on April 27, 1939. She leaves behind her two daughters
Tammy, and Lori (Kevin), two grandchildren Allie (Evan), Lukas, great
grandson James and brother Rob. She is predeceased by her loving
husband Phillip and siblings Eileen, Charles, and
David.
Marlene was born
and raised in Fredericton where she met and married the love of her
life Phillip. Early in their marriage they moved to Truro where they
raised their children and made lifelong friends. On any given Friday
night, they could be found playing cards with these friends and
sharing lots of laughs.
She was a great
cook and many members of their church got to enjoy her famous coconut
cream pies and amazing brown bread. Marlene's proudest moment was when
she became a grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and
joy.
She had a great
sense of humour, was quick witted and was always up for any practical
joke. After she lost the love of her life 20 years ago, she would
often say," There will never be another one like him". It
gives us great comfort to know they are finally together
again.
We wish to say a
special thank you to the nurses on 4 southwest and the nurses in the
ICU that gave her wonderful care and
compassion.
Please join us at
Bishops Funeral Home and Crematorium 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton on
Tuesday May 2nd from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM to
celebrate Marlene's life.
In lieu of flowers
donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or The Canadian
Cancer Society.
