It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Miriam Ramey of Fredericton, NB on March 23rd, 2023, at York Care Centre. She was 83. Born in Lunenburg NS, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Helen (Beck) Naas.
Miriam trained at The Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1960 as a Registered Nurse. She worked in hospitals in Nova Scotia and Ontario as well as at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
She married Donald Ramey in 1960 and settled soon after in Jewett’s Mills, New Brunswick where they lived for nearly fifty years. They spent time almost every summer at cottage that they built on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Miriam was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She volunteered at the Fredericton Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, skiing, and hiking.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Donald, their children Ann Louise and Peter Donald (Janice), grandchildren Dylan Austin (Heather) and Adam Richard, and her sisters, Hope Eaton and Jean Fraser. She was predeceased by her brother Royden Naas.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road on Sunday March 26th from 2-4 PM. There will be no service at this time; a private interment will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at the York Care Centre for their kindness and exceptional care.
