The passing of Mary June Hallett occurred on Friday February 17th 2023, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.  Born September 18th, 1933 in Central Kingsclear, She was the eldest child of Frank and Mary (Gallagher) Hallett.

She attended the one room school in Central Kingsclear and in 1951 graduated from FHS.  She was employed with the NB Provincial Government for 42 and a half years retiring in 1993.

United in faith she was a member of St. Paul’s United Church and a past member of the Fredericton Golf Club and Capital Winter Club.

June is survived by a brother-in-law Donald Watson of Harvey, sister-in-law Mavis Hallett, three nephews, Peter Hallett, his wife Betty, their daughter Samantha of Beresford, Christopher (Chris) Hallett, his friend Shelley Ryan of Fredericton, Leigh Watson of Harvey, his daughters Rebecca and Sarah, one niece Mary Jane Quigley and her daughters Ava and Nessa of Fredericton and six first cousins. Also left to mourn her passing are her "Boy Andy", a cat who changed coming home to an empty house to "coming home", as well as several good friends and especially great neighbors.

Beside her parents, June was predeceased by her brother Kenneth and sister Roberta (Watson), grandparents, Samuel and Laura (Good) Gallagher, and Allan and Jennie (Timmins) Hallett, aunts, uncles and four cousins.

As requested and pre-arranged by June, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will take place at Bishops Funeral Home Crematorium and her ashes will be interred in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date beside her parents and Gallagher grandparents.

Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial donations in June’s memory may be made to Hospice Fredericton, the Fredericton SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice. 

Special thank you from her family to Dr. Karen VanMiddlesworth, Extra Mural nurses, Dr. Richard Harvey and staff, also to Dr. Tingley (retired), for their care over the years.
