It is with great sadness that the family of Mona Evelyn Sinclair of Fredericton, NB announce her passing at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 19th , 2023. Born on January 4th , 1932, in River Hebert, NS, she was the daughter of the late Laurent and Ina (Burbine) Melanson and the wife of the late William "Scotty" Sinclair. Mom had 13 siblings and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mom enjoyed shopping, a good chat, a good laugh, and an occasional road trip with friends. Mom also loved music and possessed a beautiful singing voice. Always willing to help, she was an incredibly kind, selfless, and giving person who loved her children and grandchildren very much. Her greatest heartache was losing the love of her life, her husband Scotty, as they were inseparable. She grieved him every day since his passing. Although we will miss our Mom profoundly, our grief is somewhat lessened for we are comforted knowing that she led a good life and she and Dad are now together in heaven.

She is survived by children John, Hughie, and Fiona Sinclair all of Fredericton; grandchildren Alexander, Danielle "Dolly" and Aidan; special daughter Heather Ann; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, have been entrusted with the arrangements.

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the Nurses and staff at the DECH for their exceptional care during her brief stay.

We would also like to acknowledge John for the loving care he provided to Mom during her declining health. As an alternative to flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
