It is with great sadness that the family of Bob Gorman announce his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Fredericton on January 6, 1936, he was the son of the late Cecil and Mildred (Coughlan).

He was predeceased by his wife Martha and leaves behind sons, Ross (Kelly) and Dave (Lori); daughter, Carolyn (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Daniel and Matthew Gorman, Sydney and Leah Paterson, several nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friend Helen Jean Gorman and family as well as a number of close friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers, Douglas, Murray, and sister Geraldine Markey. A lifelong and proud resident of Devon, Bob spent most of his life working in the trucking industry. Upon retirement, he volunteered at the DECH for many years as a greeter, ensuring patients needs were met with compassion and a sense of humor. He enjoyed wood working and could "MacGyver" most anything. By way of his good friend, Burton Dykeman, Bob discovered simulated aircraft flying where he piloted various aircraft throughout North America without ever leaving the comfort of home. His keen sense of humor was evidenced by his preference for the newer aircraft claiming they were more "fuel efficient".

Special thanks go out to Bob’s neighbours of 37 years, Kim and Connie Fullarton, whose assistance and friendship, especially over the last few months was much appreciated by him and family. Also, thank you to Dr. Anne Colpitts and staff for their exceptional care and kindness.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place at the Sunny Bank Cemetery in spring of 2023. Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
