It is with sadden hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, Freeman Curtis Jones, at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, N.B. on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the age of 97 years.

Our Dad was predeceased by his wife Helen of 78 years, his parents, Delbert and Adeline Jones, daughters- Debbie Bird, Sharon Reynolds, son Curtis, son-in-law- Donnie Langille, granddaughter - Tammy Fridlund, brothers – Hazen, Elwood, Flavis, Wilfred, Donnie, Douglas, Eugene, and sisters- Fern, Blanche, Pearl, Margaret, Nora, Pauline, Edith.

Dad is survived by son, Vance [ Anita] Burtt’s Corner, daughters- Brenda [Irvine] Brewer, Fort McMurray, AB., Alma [ Carl] Gorman, Guelph, Ontario, Dixie Langille, Fredericton, sisters- Mardelle and Eileen, son-in-law, Alden Reynolds.  19 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Dad and Mom attended the Church of Christ, Dorn Ridge, N.B. for many years.  Dad was a meticulous carpenter and all over Burtt’s Corner you can see his "handy work". He worked for many years at Diamond Construction as a foreman and travelled throughout the Maritime Provinces building bridges and several buildings at St. Thomas and U.N.B. We always said, "Dad had his honorary degree from University in carpentry and construction "

Dad had many talents and hobbies—he filed saws and made axe handles for anybody near and far, repaired many windows, doors, etc.  for anyone who asked him. He loved to fish and hunt and put many a fall meat on our table. He taught us kids how to dig for worms, bate our own hook and fish out of the Jones’ Fork, then we could have a good swim. He took great pride in his vegetable garden, and we all reaped the benefit from it but then we all worked in it as well, picking out the rocks and weeds but it was a "family "affair enjoyed by all. Dad was still looking after his garden and mowing his lawn up until 2019 when he went to live at Pine Grove Nursing home with our mom.

As the song says, "You can let go now Dad", by Crystal Shawanda – We are all going to be alright.  Rest in peace, in God’s "Heavenly Home "Will meet you there in the "By and by ".

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave to our dad. The kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness were very evident in the care and so appreciated by all of us during his time there from February 24, 2019, to November 21, 2022.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, N.B. A Memorial service will be held at Burtt’s Corner Cemetery, N.B. at a later date Online Condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
