It is with heavy hearts the family of Jamie Robert Alexander Brannen announce his sudden passing on September 23rd, 2022 in Upper Kingsclear, NB.

Born September 2, 1975, he was the son of Robert "Bob" Brannen (Nancy) and Cindy Clark Murray (Barry). Jamie lived his early years in Chipman before moving to Fredericton and graduating from Computer Science at UNB Fredericton. He owned and operated Brannen Consulting, and while most of his clients were in the U.S., his family all used his "help desk" services regularly!

Jamie was passionate about sports (whether playing, watching, coaching or volunteering). He could give you a score update or a stat at any given time on any given sport. He could tell you what shot was made in the third end of a curling game 5 years ago. He was devoted to the sport of curling, continually improving his personal game as well as encouraging others to do the same. He competed at the national level in both men's and mixed, making 6 Brier appearances and 2 Canadian Mixed.

Generous with his time and energy, Jamie would be first in line to offer a big smile, a greeting, a favour, his help in any way. He touched many lives and will be remembered and missed by many.

While Jamie led an active life, his devotion to family was above all else. He will be deeply missed by his wife Lesley Hicks Brannen, and their children Julie and Alex, by his mother Cindy (Barry), by his sister Kari Labadie (Anthony), by his father's wife Nancy, by nieces and nephews Roger & Kaitlyn, Eliza & Seamus, and a large extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, and in-laws.

Visitation will be held Tuesday September 27th, 2022, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton.  A funeral service and reception will be held on Wednesday September 28th, 2 PM at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 780 McEvoy St, Fredericton with The Rev. Canon Kevin Stockhall officiating.

Donations in memory of Jamie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or KidSport NB (So All Kids Can Play) or a charity of your choice.
