It is with heavy hearts the family of Robert "Bob" Morris Brannen announces his sudden passing on September 23, 2022, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB.

Born on March 22, 1949, in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Alexander and Kathleen (Pike) Brannen.  He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter, Kari (Anthony) Labadie, daughter in law, Lesley Hicks Brannen, grandchildren, Roger, Julie, Kaitlyn, and Alex, brother, Michael (Cathy) and sister, Dorothy, as well and several nieces and nephews (all of whom loved their "Uncle Bobby") and his cherished four-legged companion, Samson.  Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son Jamie, brother Dave, and sister, Helen.

Bob taught school for over 30 years in Chipman. Throughout his working life, and well after retirement, Bob was not just a teacher but very much a mentor, guide, coach, and advisor to people who came to know him.

Bob was a life member in the Kinsmen Club in Chipman and later a member in the Fredericton Kinsmen Club, and was very active in supporting their work for many years.

Bob was an accomplished athlete. He played basketball at Saint Thomas University and he was a club and competitive curler for years, and competed in Masters curling at the national level. He was always a keen analyst of any sport he played or watched, and was always ready with insightful and entertaining comments on all events, especially curling and baseball.

Mostly though, Bob was a good friend and supporter to all who were lucky enough to know him, either as a family member or a friend. Above all else, he loved his family more than anything. The sun rose and set on his grandchildren.  He will be missed deeply by his wife, Nancy, daughter , Kari (Anthony), daughter-in-law, Lesley, grandchildren, Roger, Julie, Kaitlyn and Alex, his brother, Michael (Cathy), sister
Dorothy, numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, at Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service and reception will be held Wednesday, September 28th, 2022, at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 780 McEvoy Street, Fredericton, at 2 pm.

Donations in memory of Bob can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Fredericton SPCA, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
