A celebration of life will be held on saturday May 21st 2022 from 3-5 PM at the Delta Fredericton.

Glendon Davidson Phillips passed away on January 22nd, 2022, at the age of 83, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Fredericton, he was a son of the late Bart and Hazel (Davidson) Phillips.

Glendon was a proud employee of NB TEL. He would often tell stories of his years of employment there and all of the experiences he had. He was a very hard-working man who took great pride in his service for the company. Even after retirement; Glendon would be seen wearing his NB TEL apparel. Commonly, he would speak of his good friend and coworker "tiger", and everyone knew regardless of the situation; tiger always made it "the very best".

Glendon spent much of his time in the summers working in his garden, visiting friends and family, and soaking up the sun.  Glendon enjoyed the outdoors and if the weather was poor, he never worried too much about it; as he would say "there’s no point in worrying about it: we can’t control it".

He was a huge fan of music. One would be safe to say; he knew the word to every country song. He enjoyed dancing and singing. He attended many dances and jamborees. In his grandchildren’s early years if we were lucky, we would hear Grampie play a song on his harmonica for us. He loved all of his grandchildren almost as much as we loved him. It never failed when a grandchild said "I love you Grampie" he would reply "Well I love you too you’re my Granddaughter/Grandson" followed by his smile. He was so proud of his grandchildren.

After retirement, in the winter he and his wife Ruby would travel to Florida to their little piece of paradise where they would spend their time on the beach, at local markets baseball games, and developing friendships that would last a lifetime. Glendon continued to enjoy his fun and travel after Ruby’s passing with his dear friend Marjorie Tattrie, who became a close and special friend of the family.

Glendon had a wonderful sense of humour and a bright smile that will be missed endlessly by his friends and family.

Left to mourn his loss are his sons, Dwight (Mary-Lee), and Roger (Vaune Dugan), siblings, Donna Noble (Marvin), and Ronald (Elaine), grandchildren, MacKenzie (Tyson), Darby, and Christopher, step-grandchildren, Brandie Simonson (Pat), Jeremy Underhill (Pam), and Brady Underhill (Tahlia), as well as 5 step-great-grandchildren and his special friend Marjorie Tattrie.

He was predeceased by his parents, siblings, George (Joan), Bart Jr. (Rae), and Gail Samson (Donnie), and his beloved wife Ruby.

There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time, with a graveside service taking place in the spring, at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension. If you wish to make a donation in Glendon’s memory, please do so to the Nashwaaksis United Church. Online condolences and sharing of memories can be made at www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
