Barry Lee Hemphill passed away suddenly at his home in Fredericton, NB, on January 19th, 2022, at the age of 67. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Orland Hemphill and Shirley Melanson (neé Belyea).

Barry loved and lived music of all sorts. Seldom seen without his guitar in hand, he taught classical guitar part-time. He would often be seen busking around Fredericton, spreading the joy of his music to passersby. He was an extremely talented composer, writing challenging music which he could play with great ease. Barry was also a visual artist and a brilliant creative writer.

Prior to retiring, Barry spent many years as a radar technician in the Royal Canadian Air Force, reaching the rank of corporal.

Left behind to mourn his loss is his daughter Leah Hunter, her husband Shaun, and their family. Barry is also survived by his brother, Bob Hemphill, sisters Darlene Hemphill and Cheryl Hummel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
