The family of Colleen
Lucia Williams is saddened to announce her passing on December
4th, 2021, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital. Born on November 13th, 1950, in
Guyana, she was a daughter of Oscar and Joyce (Narain)
Williams.
Colleen was a member
of the St. Mary’s church choir, and thoroughly enjoyed
singing. She also sang with the Barber Shop choir in Ottawa. While
living in Ottawa, she was employed with Statistics Canada, the Ghana
Commission and while in Fredericton, the Department of Justice.
Colleen was a great cook, a frequent volunteer, and a loyal
friend.
She will be missed by
her son, Sheldon Williams (Brigitte), mother, Joyce Williams, sister,
Maureen Garmon (Reggie), brothers, Gavin Williams and Ewart Williams
(Heather), godchildren, Janelle, Cindy, and Tycho, nieces, Aaron,
Ethan, Kitwana, Keesha, and Tanzen, great-nephews, Cassius, Jeromiah,
and Amarion, great-niece, Karina, as well as several aunts, uncles,
and cousins.
She was predeceased
by her father, Oscar Williams, and brother, Errol
Williams.
Arrangements have
been entrusted to Bishop’s Funeral Home &
Crematorium 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton. A funeral service will be
held at 1PM on Friday December 10th, 2021, at
St. Mary’s Anglican Church with The Revd. Canon Kevin M.
Stockall officiating. For those who wish to attend, proof of double
vaccination is required, along with a government issued ID, and masks
must be worn. Interment will take place following the service in the
adjoining St. Mary’s Anglican Church
Cemetery.
