With profound sadness, the family of Linda Marie (Sowers) Clark would like to announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, November 11th 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Linda leaves behind her two daughters, Lori (Jacques) Roy of Hanwell, Stephanie (Todd) Seymour of Hanwell, step children Ted (Brenda) Clark of Kingston and Debbie (Al) Morton of Manitoba. Her brother Malcolm (Iris) Sowers of Ocala, Florida, sister Susan (Clayton) Doige of Halifax, NS and stepmother Nora Sowers of Fredericton. Her treasured Grandchildren, Samantha Roy, Tyler and Emily Seymour, step grandchildren Kaylee Morton, Colin and Megan Clark, Sydney Clark, Stephanie (Phil) Hondas and Adam Roy and several nieces and nephews. Special mention to Mom’s cousin and best friend Judy McKay. Mom and Judy were very close and loved to get into trouble together. She enjoyed their escapades and chats with Judy very much. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Mildred Sowers, her first husband Elwood (Jock) Jones, granddaughter Kaitlin Seymour, stepson Richard Clark and her loving husband and caregiver of 32 years, Raymond Clark.

Linda was born July 31, 1948 in Sheffield, NB. In her youth Linda was an avid swimmer and speedskater and continued speedskating for many years. She loved to dance, had a very sharp wit and a wicked sense of humour. Being a single Mom for many years she worked hard to raise her two girls through tough times but she prevailed and Lori and Stephanie are grateful for the example she set. Linda worked at Tractors and Equipment and Mack Maritime in Fredericton as a warranty clerk. Later she moved to Browns Flat and worked with the Northrup Group of automotive companies for many years as warranty clerk. In her retirement she enjoyed being a grandmother and the kids always enjoyed receiving Nannie’s chocolate chip cookies.

At Linda’s request there will be no visitation and a private family burial will take place in Sheffield, NB at the Sheffield United Church cemetery at a date to be confirmed. Arrangements are in the care of Bishop’s Funeral Home, Fredericton, NB. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, Hospice Fredericton or organization of the donor’s choice.

"Your Mother is always with you. She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, the fragrance of life itself. She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well. She’s your breath in the air on a cold winter’s day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colours of a rainbow, she is Christmas morning. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She’s the place you came from, your first home, and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you, not time, not space…not even death.
