ALLAIN, A. Pauline

It is with sad hearts that the family of the Agnes Pauline Allain announce her passing at York Care Centre, Fredericton on November 6th, 2021. Pauline was born in Fredericton on November 19, 1925, daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Douglass) McGinley.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Fredericton. Among her interests, gardening was a favorite allowing Pauline to create any outside space into a happier place and this also provided a great background for her painting skills where she was able to capture the beauty of her flowers and landscapes. She was also an avid reader and was the first lady to work in the Testing for NB Tel in this area.

A loving and devoted mother, Pauline leaves behind her daughters, Andrea Allain of Ottawa, Juanita Rose (Ian) of Fredericton, Karen Stafford (Eric) of Calgary, Maureen Allain of Fredericton and Stephanie Tomilson (Trevor) of Tay Creek; 8 grandchildren, Alexander Tomilson (Kim), Christopher Stafford (Kelly), Michael Rose (Jessica), Taylor Vincent (Shannon), Robyn Bonacci(Anthony), Samantha Irving (Rob), Brian Rose (Jessie), and Timothy Rose, and 9 great grandchildren. Pauline will be greatly missed by her sister Catherine McGinley of Fredericton and by sisters-in-aw Elinor McGinley, Sylvia VanVliet, Jocelyne Carroll, Raymonde Belair and brother-in-law Peter Allain as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pauline was predeceased by her parents, husband Joseph Leo Paul Allain, sisters Helen O’Leary, Alice Legere, Evelyn McGinley, Margaret Hughes, and Olive Miller, brothers Ronald and Donald McGinley, and great granddaughter Lily.

The family would like to thank the staff of Tower 1 at York Care Centre for their wonderful care of Mom over the past many years. It will never be forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Church on Friday, November 12th 2021 at 11am, with Father Maria Arioka as celebrant. Interment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. For those attending the Mass of Christian Burial, masks and proof of two Covid vaccinations, as well as a government issued ID, will be manditory.  The family has suggested that memorial contributions be sent to St. Anthony’s Church Building Fund or The Fredericton Food Bank.
