The family of Margaret Iris (Smylie) Allen, of Fredericton, NB is deeply saddened to announce her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was born in Cumberland Bay, NB on May 17,1938; the daughter of Margretta (Morton) Creaser and William Smylie.

Marg, Mum, Grandmaggie, Maggie was devoted to and survived by her husband of 60 years, Murph; her daughter, Kelly Allen (Scott MacIsaac); grandson, Alex MacIsaac (Jenna Short); granddaughter, Maggie MacIsaac (Andrew McQuaid); son, Kurt (Susie); grandson, Jake (Shannon); grandson, Jordan (Smriti Singh); and granddaughter, Taylor.  Great granddaughters, Lennon and Regan, were two incredibly bright lights in her life.  Maggie also loved her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her mother, father, beloved sister, Jean Richardson and brother-in-law, Peter Richardson.

Marg was loved by all who knew her and had many friends.  She was a life-long member of St. Paul’s United Church and committed to the United Church Women.  She barely missed helping out at a church dinner or other function.  Very dear to her was also Beta Sigma Phi of which she was a member for over 60 years.  She also cherished her swimming buddies.

At her request, there is no visitation, but a small graveside service with all those who loved her most at 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 25th at the Forest Hill Cemetery.  Reverend Scott MacIsaac will be officiating. There will be a reception following until 6:00 pm at the social room on the 4th floor, 845 McLeod Avenue.
