Leona A. Rowan
Leona passed away at the Oromocto Public Hospital on June 9th, 2021, at the age of 85. Born in Fredericton, NB. She was a daughter of the late Clarence J. Goodine and Winnifred M. Murphy. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Michael Rowan in 1998.
She is survived by her four children: Nancy Hetherington (Paul), David Rowan (Carolyn), Bridget Menzies (Allan) and Sean Rowan. Her grandchildren; Cholene Ogilvie, Cole Stewart (Courtney), Millennia Rowan, Maya Rowan, Jacqueline Howe (Russell) and Jason Rowan. As well as great grandchildren; Autumn, Chase, Tatum, Aubrey, Willow, Harrison, and Piper. Also survived by her siblings, Eugene Goodine (Betty) and Marilyn Hirschfeld (Herman). Predeceased by her sister Dawn Marie MacInnis.
Leona attended schools in Lincoln, Fredericton and Saint John. Her working career included the Department of National Defense and Trust Companies.
Leona was an excellent cook. She loved to cook and try new recipes for her family. Leona always had the most beautiful summer flower beds and also enjoyed playing bridge. She enjoyed old treasures and one of her favorite shows was Antique Road Show.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday June 15th, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi in Lincoln NB. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi. Covid restrictions and social distancing measures will be in place at the entrance of the Church. Interment to follow in the Hermitage cemetery.
