We are
deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carmel Mary Boucher of
Saint Mary’s First Nation. She entered the spirit world on
May 20, 2021. She was born on November 08, 1939, was the daughter of
the late Evangeline and Arthur Paul and wife of the
late Alex Boucher (Papa).
Carmel leaves behind her children; Robert Paul,
Duane (Sandra) Paul, Martin Paul, Karen Paul, Pierre (Lynda) Paul,
Robin Paul, Scott (Shannon) Paul; numerous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; brothers, Darrell
(Peewee and Karen), Gary (Joan), Donnie and her sister Sharon (Donna)
and several nieces, nephews.
In addition to her own children, Carmel babysat
and helped to raise and guide many other children with her
love. In addition to her parents and her late husband, she
predeceased by her brother Robert Paul and her
stepdaughter
Carol Paul.
Carmel was
well known for her love of life, travelling, gardening, bingo, and her
many achievements with SMFN and surrounding Fredericton area. She was
happiest when she was surrounded with her family and
friends.
A special
thank you to Scott and Duane for their support as well as the staff at
Pine Grove Nursing Home, the DECH, OPH Med 1 and the Duffy
Unit.
She will be
resting at the Maqiyahtimok Center 240 Maliseet Drive St.
Mary’s First Nation with visitation beginning Saturday
evening May 22, 2021 at 6:00 pm until Tuesday May May 25. The funeral
service will be held, with social distancing measures in place, on
Tuesday May 25, 2021 at the Maqiyahtimok Center at 11:00
am.
Memorial
donations in Carmel’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer's
Society, the Diabetes Association or the Parkinson's
Association.
