It is with great
sadness that the family of Gerald (Jerry) Dale O’Leary,
announce his passing on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the age of 73
years.
Jerry will be
lovingly remembered by his wife, Dianne (McCracken) and his children
David and Christine, and his daughter-in-law Paula. Jerry
will also be fondly remembered by his two grandchildren, Payton, and
Chase. Jerry was also pre-deceased by his daughter,
Dawn.
Jerry was born on
September 7, 1947 and grew up in Fredericton Junction, NB along with
his five older siblings – Blaine (Margaret), Lois Harris,
Vaughn, Melissa (Kelly) Wilson and Ruth – all of whom will
also remember their young brother fondly. Jerry was
pre-deceased by his mother Carrie and his father Edward
"Ned"
O’Leary.
Jerry was a very
active self-made businessperson in New Brunswick for over four decades
having ran multiple car dealerships (Hillside Nissan,
O’Leary Pontiac Buick GMC, Fredericton Hyundai, Saint John
Nissan, and others), built Speedway 660 and dozens of other successful
ventures. Jerry was (he would tell you much more
importantly) a lover of Jesus Christ and his real passion in life was
telling people about the saving Grace of Jesus. If you met
Jerry at any time after the mid-1990s there is a very good chance he
talked about his love for the
Lord!
A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be
held at the Worship Barn, located at 270 Sunpoke Road in Rusagonis at
2pm on Thursday, May 6th. For anyone
who is unable to attend the Celebration, or who would just like to say
goodbye in their own way, Jerry will be available for an unattended
viewing (no receiving line) from 12:00 – 1:30pm on Thursday,
May 6th at the Worship Barn. For
those unable to attend, the service will be recorded and available at
Bishops Funeral home website, as well as the Worship Barn Facebook
page, on Thursday evening.
The family would like to especially
thank the entire staff of Hospice in Fredericton for their amazing
care of Jerry in his final weeks. Those who so desire may
make memorial donations in memory of Jerry to Hospice Fredericton at
