It is with sadden hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Helen Minerva Jones at the Pine Grove Nursing Home on Monday, May 3, 2021. Our mother was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Myrtle [Jones] Daye . Daughters, Debbie [Ronald] Bird, Sharon [Alden] Reynolds . Son- in –law, Donnie Langille. Brothers, Harold, Orlo and Wayne . Sisters, Gladys, Mary, Shirley and Madelyn.
Mother is survived by her husband of 78 years, Freeman. Sons, Curtis, Stewiacke, N.S., Vance [Anita] Burtts Corner . Daughters, Brenda [ Irvine] Brewer, Fort McMurray, AB, Alma [ Carl] Gorman, Guelph, Ont., Dixie Langille, Burtts Corner. 19 Grandchildren, 30 Great- grandchildren and 2 Great- great grandchildren.
Mom was a woman with many talents. She was a caring wife and a wonderful mother to 7 children. Her greatest Love was her family and caring for them. She was a great cook , a seamstress, could knit, crochet , gardener , loved to walk and cross country skied in the winter .You name it , she could do it . She devoted her life to her family. Mom cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She always ensured her family was warmly dressed and well fed as she enjoyed her cooking and sewing for our family of 9. She was so proud of her gardens and she and Dad worked together in the spring, summer and fall to make their property come alive with beautiful flowers and vegetables. We are all very proud to call her "Our Mom ".
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home for their wonderful care, they gave Mom . The kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness was very evident and so appreciated by all of us during her time there [ Nov., 2017 – May, 2021].
At the request of Mom, there is to be no funeral. Prayers at the gravesite at Burtts Corner will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2 PM. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, family members only and the public will be able to view the service on the website. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, N.B. A recording of the gravesite service will be posted on the Bishop’s Funeral home website later in the day.
