Shirley worked in Ottawa as a secretary and later as an Executive Assistant at Mount Royal College in Calgary AB, before moving to Fredericton in retirement.  As a loving mother, she was faithful attender of her children’s sports, music, and dance recitals.  She loved bowling (Regina) and playing bridge (Calgary).

She was a member of the Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, organizing the church prayer line, and helping with summer camps as a volunteer.

She is survived by her children Lori Koshowski (Chris Bailey) of Glover, VT, Shari Koshowski of Fredericton, NB, Rodney Koshowski (Marci) of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren Jessie, Tasia (Colin Cooper); brother Donald Hughes (Isabel) of Fredericton; sister-in-law Rose Marie Hughes; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by a brother Robert Hughes; sisters Marguerite Gauthreau, Bernice McIntyre, Noreen Mullenger, Doris Estey, and Reta Derrah.

Visitation for Shirley will be Friday April 30th from 12:30 to 1:45 PM from Greenwood drive Baptist church.  Those attending should keep in mind that due to current covid restrictions and protocols, the capacity of the first 50 people cannot be exceeded. Please bring and wear a mask at all times in the building.  A celebration to honor Shirley’s life will be held at Greenwood Drive Baptist Church on Friday April 30th, 2021 at 2 PM by invitation with Pastor Gordon Cook officiating.  A private family burial will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date.
